This book immediately drew me in. The main character, Becca, was a realistic portrayal of single mom with too much to do and not enough hands or time to do it in. Adding to the story is a breakup with her child’s father, prior to either of them trusting Christ. The breakup having been a result of sin, guilt, and misunderstanding. The villain in the story is a product of a hyper legalistic Church upbringing and a father who murdered his mother. Character development is very good. This is a clean read and has no foul language or sex scenes. Boundaries on their behavior as a result of their faith are evident. The pre-Christian state of Becca and Jared is presented but not glorified. I am looking forward to the next book by This author
The plot in this book was about 20% of the book. The majority of the book was about the romance between the 2 main characters and how much they desired each other, ad nauseaum. I like a good mystery/suspense book and don't mind some romance but when the romantic thoughts and dialogues dominate the book I end up just just skimming and flipping. It was just overdone.
One of the few Christian writers i have read that actually think God has a law of chastity. Refreshing.But that is second to the talent of the author. A very believable , suspenseful take, where the romance doesn't overshadow the mystery. I will look forward to future books, and hope that saint Caleb gets his reward.
Suspenseful, romantic, good Christian witness/ing, hard to put down. Very well written. Looking forward to more of her books. Definitely an author I plan to follow. Made the characters come alive. So. read about these guys especially Jared and Becca. Enjoy!
I really enjoyed the story. It kept me engaged. Loved the characters - real, relatable, likeable. I was rooting for the main love story from the beginning. Super sweet, even with the killer lurking around ))).
I loved the storyline, the relatability and depth to the characters, the twists of the story and development of the plot. I highly recommend reading this book- I look forward to reading the next one when it comes out!
The plot was interesting. Book was written pretty well for what appeared to be one of authors first books.
Great read. Kept my attention. Really appreciated the fact that it honored God. Can't wait to read her next book.
