I have been in the security and networking business for more than 15 years. Over the years I have been both on the technical and business side dealing with many aspects of security spanning reverse engineering, operational security, incident management, security product management and so on.I recently got interested in 802.15.4 (ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, etc.) and software defined radio (SDR) primarily from a security perspective. So I bought this book to have a practical guide on the matter. I have only processed the chapters that I was interested in but I can say I have been impressed. The authors are clearly very knowledgeable on the topic and they convey their message very well. I learned quite a lot.One caveat, this may not be for the complete beginner. Authors provide a 'simplicity' score for the attacks they describe (10 being the easiest, like using an already available tool to point and click; 1 being the most difficult like requiring you write a new exploit code yourself) so complete beginners may be able to find few attack concepts that they can try. But overall the book assumes you are technical minded and have some technical background.With that in mind, highly recommended to anyone looking for an in-depth understanding of wireless security.

I have owned the previous two editions of this book, and as always the authors do not disappoint. This book will let anyone with basic linux knowledge understand the tools and techniques to hack wireless networks with ease. There is also a new chapter on Software Defined Radios which is a great primer into the subject.

A great investment for anyone working in or wanting to learn more about pentesting and cyber security!

I found this book to be very detailed and informative on the subject. Chapter 14 on hacking Z wave Smart Homes was very interesting. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in wireless security.

Was waiting for this third edition for a long time, it was worth the wait.Goes in depth into the various wireless technologies and their hacks, but also suggests effective countermeasures.A must read for wireless security hackers, penetration testers, etc.

Good read for those interested in the various wireless protocols. It is written in a way that makes it easily understandable and yet still covers the details well.

Great book and understanding of wireless Device. Used it during two different type of wireless assessment. This is becoming my to go book for answering customers questions.

As a comprehensive and well thought out view of Druidry, I recommend this book. It gives a view of Druidry based on the AODA (Ancient Order of Druids in America) system of which Greer is the leader. While this book provides all the information a person needs to start on the path of Druidry, I would recommend also reading one of the fine books by Philip Carr-Gomm or Emma Restall-Orr to see a slightly different perspective.

Excellent book, clearly written. It provides concrete information about druidry history, current practice, symbolism, and the ogham, Throughout the history section, I felt like the author offered a discerning, academically-sound analysis of what we know instead of taking the classic everything-you-ever-heard-is-true approach. Enough detail was provided about the three rays of light, three circles of manifestation, and three elements of nature that you can actually DO something with the knowledge, instead of needing to pay someone else for more information. A book worthy of my time.

Like many who come to this book, I know John Michael Greer for his Hermetic and general audience political writings. I was aware that he was the AODA's archdruid as well as having an affiliation with ADF, an more explicitly reconstructionist polytheist group. Greer admits that revival Druidry is largely inspired by Masonic, Hermetic, and Victorian romantic revivalist lore and is ecumenical in his approach here. Most of the "Celtic" references are Welsh and there is no theological commitment explicitly made the practice. Greer admits that these roots are early modern and not ancient, and while this will displease some, it is also more honest than some claims to the traditional relationship to Druidry.Like many, I find much of the ritual magic here to be anachronistic to Druidry, although Greer admits this, and just beyond my use of ritual practices. The historical part of the book, which is the first section, was refreshing modest its claims and did accurate the origins interesting, although if you are primarily interested in this aspect of the book, Ronald Hutton's books on Druids are much more detailed. The second part deals with the triads and paths, largely related to the curriculum of the AODA. I admit I do find AODA's take on meditation interesting if mostly speculative.While the most useful to Druidry revitalists in the AODA and OBOD--Celtic Reconstructions and even the ADF druids may not find this as usual--even an outsider to the world like myself can find nuggets of wisdom and use here

I love the fact that this book says right up front that it's not trying to be the "be-all-end-all" authority on Druidry. What it does do is explore Druidry as it's evolved to what it is today, and the beliefs and practices of druids, as well as differentiating between various types of druids on both sides of the Atlantic. I really appreciate the way the author presents the philosophies, the differences, and the history and evolution of Druids and Druidry. It's a really great read! Answered a lot of questions.

Greer does a fantastic job relating, comparing, and showing the stark differences and similarities between The Historical Druids, the Revivalist movement of the self-proclaimed "Druids," and finally, to that of the modern movement known simply as "Druidry." His information is valid, informative, and concise. There was clearly a lot of research and time that went into putting this book together. Greer leaves practically no stone unturned, and the reader will be pleased to walk away informed rather than mis-lead.

This book is well worth the buy. Unlike so many other authors, john makes sure to explain that this is modern druidry, not ancient druidry. He doesnt try to pass off anything as ancient knowledge and even explains that some of the main texts of modern druidry is questionable when you consider whether its ancient or not. He gets you to understand that this is not important. druidry is a way of life, not a religion or a set of dogmas set in stone. Feel welcome no matter what your religion, its about reverance for the earth,land and changing the way you approach modern societies wasteful ways that everyone just accepts as "The way to be". This is by no means an ecofreak book though. It offers ways to change but doesnt act snoody or self rightous.This book is full of mystiscm aswell. It has several elemental charts, including the druid elementals, in depth ritual instructions and wheel of the year info aswell. It lays down the basics of druidism and at the end of the chapters it has a list of suggested reading. On top of this it has a section on the Ogham alphabet, instructs you on the divinitory meaning and such.It also covers meditation. Color breathing, thats all Im gonna say, you need to read the rest lol.It lays down the paths, earth path, sunpath, moon path. And it gives you the 1st degree corriculum, so bassically you can get started right away on your path to druidism. btw i am a follower of the witch path and this is a great way to suppliment that or any religious path.I would reccomend this book to all who are on spiritual paths in life.

Brilliant. An easy enough read to be of real help to the novice practitioner but with multiple layers unfolding with each reading and with continuing practice of the druidry path. Its beauty is in its simplicity and straightforwardness while not only allowing but actually promoting the customization of its teaching and rituals in ways that mesh with your own beliefs, experience, and path of choice. Well done, Mr Greer!

just used two things. this book and the 10 dollar "study guide" on the clep website which had no information, but a useful practice test.I read the 60 pages of info in this, took notes, cut out the flashcards, and took the practice test. all in all maybe 15 total hours of studying. I knew a bit about like hardware and software but mostly encountered new terms and concepts. my score was a 64 and my school required a 50 to pass. Heads up, the test had some newer terms and concepts- hence the usefulness of the clep website overpriced bs.TLDR this book taught me what was on the majority of the exam. GL

I bought this book to review for the Information systems CLEP test. I passed my test, but I don't contribute my score to this book. Out of 100 questions there may have been 2 that were similar to something out of this book. It was a waste of time. If you're planning on taking the CLEP Information Systems test I suggest finding a different book.

Using this book, along with the official Information Systems Guide, helped me to pass the CLEP exam after 2 weeks of studying.

Whatever you do please do not buy this book. I don't know why others found this book useful. It was waste of time and money!! Everything I studied for wasn't even close to what was on the actual exam. Major disappointment!

About the Author

Alain Briot is one of today's leading contemporary landscape photographers. Originally from Paris, France, he attended the Academie Nationale des Beaux Arts where he studied drawing and oil painting from 1977 to 1980. Briot then began his study of photography at the American Center in Paris. After visiting the American Southwest, Briot became enthralled with the artistic potential this landscape afforded and in 1986 he relocated to the U.S. He began his study of photography at Northern Arizona University, earning his Bachelor's Degree in 1990 and his Master's Degree in Visual Communication in 1992.From 1995 to 2002, Briot lived at Canyon de Chelly, Arizona, in the heart of the Navajo Nation. Living there allowed him to become intimately familiar with Native American arts and culture, which is evident in the frames and matting designs he uses. Briot's goal is to create the most exciting and beautiful photographs possible. His equipment—be it cameras, software, etc.—is chosen for the ability to make this possible.Alain Briot is a columnist on the highly respected Luminous Landscape website, and is a popular teacher of photography workshops. Lots to say here. First, this is a great resource - just get it.This book has a great deal to offer aspiring fine art photographers in a very challenging business environment.Let's be frank, Briot has lots of opinions based on what has worked for him - and he sells many images at the Grand Canyon National Park Service store - great gig if you can get it! He has developed very specific ideas about what fine art is and isn't. While you may or may not agree with all of his ideas, he is smart, experienced and offers excellent insights that force you to explore your own ideas more critically - a needed activity for every serious fine art photographer.Perhaps the most controversial and polarizing part of his thinking is his argument between low cost and high cost sales. Regardless of your position on this topic, it's conversation we all have to have, but don't often get right. Briot brings up good points for each side despite being an obvious fan of the latter model.If you can keep the context of Briot's ideas in the back of your mind, this is an exceptional starting or check point title and a wonderful resource you should own and will undoubtedly grow with. It has many well thought out points to explore. It's also an easy read.A well done book.

The most complete book I have ever seen on the subject of building a small photography business based on Fine Art sales. Straight forward with no bs. What a great team Alain and Natalie have made. This book, along with their heart for the genuine art of fine photography, gives new businesses, and artists, hope for future success. Bravo. Beautiful.

After waiting several months for the release of this book, I was pleasantly surprised how readable, clear, concise and justified the approach was. The author clearly differentiates between fine art photography and other forms (ie, stock photography for example). If you are searching for ways to monetize your hobby...this is probably NOT the book for you. On the other hand, if you are searching for tried and true methods of turning a "hobby" into a full-time artistic pursuit while creating a stream of income from your fine art...this IS the book for you.The author takes the time to provide a strong foundation for fine art photography as compared to other forms - something the reader would be well advised to examine in brutal honesty. Does your photography really qualify as fine art? If not, can it or should you keep moving to find your own niche? From that foundation the author goes on to explore all of the nuts and bolts of selling, marketing, showing and networking including mention of recent technology ranging from payments to social media marketing. There is a superb balance between tried and tested methods and new approaches with an emphasis on realistic steps designed to help you begin at the basics and grow from there.Exceptionally clear, very readable. Highly targeted and delivers exactly what is promised.

This book is extremely well written. The information presented is extremely valuable and broad in its reach. Yet, it flows and reads very well. It teaches marketing principles and helps develop a way of thinking. It also gives very specific examples on steps to take immediately. Alain is a wonderful teacher. He tells it like it is, so you can either take that or go to the school of hard knocks. The humor sprinkled through the book was a welcomed bonus.Easily worth the money invested. Even if it was 10x more expensive, it would still be a steal considering what it provides in return and the time one will save by applying its content.

This is a carefully crafted and clearly written "instructional manual" directed towards the individual who wishes to transition from amateur to professional photographer. It delineates the steps necessary, the pathway, to establish a fine art photographic business. The rationale behind each recommendation is clearly enunciated. Some "themes" are iterated repeatedly, but each time in a slightly different context or from a slightly different perspective. The book definitely provides a "road map" towards the stated goal. I highly recommend this book to anyone striving to be a professional fine art photographer. Note that it is directed toward fine art photography and not particularly toward wedding, portrait, etc. photography.

Naturally, this book contains a plethora of information for professional photographers who make a living from their art; however, I have never been a professional anything. Nevertheless, I have taken some mighty fine photographs on my vacations here and there (if I must say so myself) and, being interested in the best methods for displaying them on my walls at home, I learned ways to do so from this book. Even if you're not into selling your photos, I highly recommend Alain Briot's book to anyone who enjoys taking photos and would like to post their "works of art" where everyone else can enjoy them too.B. Susan Norwood is a professor of nursing at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she teaches critical care nursing, professional nursing, ethics, and understanding suffering. This is one of the most user-friendly statistics books I have ever purchased. The information and concepts are easy to understand with multiple examples. The specific subject in each chapter is highlighted for easy locating. There are additional tables in the back that can be used to solve problems. I highly recommend this book.

I needed two additional textbooks to help me understand the concepts in this book. Advanced and Multivariate Statistics by Mertler was much easier to understand.

Many of us are afraid of statistics as a field that is obscure; with a jargon that not only we cannot understand but it is seemingly boring and good only for sleepless nights.I was very surprised with this book; Polit not only made statistics understandable, but she uses plenty of examples to drive home the point. Even if your course does not require this specific book, get it anyway: it will make a world of difference.

This book was good but even the professor said he wished the author put more details into the xhapters to explain the info more.

This was a required textbook for a graduate level nursing statistics course. The text's chapters are organized and provide a comprehensive overview of the different statistical tests. All provided examples are pulled directly from nursing research and are understandable. I found the end of chapter exercises to be helpful but unfortunately, explanations or rational to the answers were not provided in the explanation. While this textbook contributed to my understanding of course content I didn't find it to be a particularly good "reference book" and I don't imagine I'll refer to it again now that the course is over.

The online materials ( including answers) needed to do the exercises are no longer available. This despite the fact that, at least at this moment, Pearson says they are ( which they apologized for) but your screwed if you need the data sets.

It comes with three data sets for practicing SPSS and completing B sets of exercises in each chapter. Exercises are tailored to enhance understanding how to interpret the statistical tests and results.

nicely written for the student who hates math, you learn to like it all over again
