This "book" is simply the pattern in book form for the wallhanging (57.5" square) shown on the cover. The quilt has a slight primitive look to it. The block patterns (12" finished) are on pull-out sheets in the center of the book. Unfortunately, those patterns are double sided (boo to the publisher!)Jo uses the back-basting applique method and she describes that process at the back of the book. However, the blocks are comprised of pretty simple shapes and could be completed by any applique skill level using any applique method...even raw edge fusible applique. In one place in the book Jo gives a tip about keeping the points (both inner and outer) of a star shape sharp but then says that you shouldn't stress over it because it will look good no matter what once you are done. I like that ... it's the "finished is better than perfect" mentality that I try to subscribe to.Each of the nine blocks are different although some of the flower vases are VERY similar.Jo suggests that you make a plan before starting and do something like make one block per month so that you enjoy the process rather than rushing to get 'er done.I'm glad I bought this book and plan to make it someday.

The patterns, while similar, are attractive. The book is full of tips to make back-basting easier. That said, the publisher chose to print the pull-out patterns on BOTH sides of the paper. If they had been printed one-sided, then the intermediate step of tracing the patterns onto velum and then using a light box or window to get the patterns traced on the back side of the background fabric could have been skipped.

Wonderful book and I like the pull-out pattern. This will make it easy to reduce to an even smaller block size. Can hardly wait to start the quilt. I like to see that others are taking on a form of Nancy Chong's method of needle turning to applique. I am impressed the added step of a size 9 needle and quilting thread for a dotted line to aid in the turning of the fabric while appliqueing. I will start in the new year once I have collected my fabrics.

Love Jo Morton's books and this one does not disappoint. Love her fabric also and just wish it wasn't so hard to find.

I have read all Scott Pratt’s books, was a little nervous about this one, no need, just as good as all the rest.Rest In Peace my favorite author.

Billy Beckett, the story’s protagonist, is a plain old guy with an interesting background. He is slowly pulled into an undulating plot, and spends most of the book figuring out why. I almost quit reading several times, as the plot developed very very slowly. Glad I didn’t. Now that is behind us, hopefully the second book will start more quickly.

This book was required for my PTA class. Luckily it’s clear and easy to read. It provided some additional images and information about the topics we discussed in class. This book enabled me to understand some concepts better and answer some questions that I had outside of my class notes. It arrived in excellent condition.

Digital copy is horrible. Pages don't match up with the paper version which makes it near impossible to follow along in class. You're better off with the paperback.

It's great that this was available in kindle. I hate carrying around textbooks, and I can read it anywhere with the back-light on my phone. My big complaint is that it's so much more expensive on kindle than as paperback. It should be cheaper since you're not using paper. It's not really eco-friendly to charge more for digital.

Very jam-packed with lots of good info, bought for my neuro PTA class, but its a bit difficult to read. Found myself having a hard time focusing a lot of the time.

The book seems to jump around quite a bit and it didn't cover all of what was required for a basic Neurology course in PT school. I ended up relying on the notes and supplemental handouts my professor gave to us to do most of my studying for this course.

I'm giving the book itself 5 stars because the content is perfect for my neuro class and it's very well written and easy to understand. On the other hand, I was under the impression that I was receiving a new book and this one arrived slightly rinkled and it had underlining in it.

Helpful but needs voice to text feature on mobile iPhone and Android plus tablets and pc. This eTextbook interface is not as user friendly nor as appealing as the Kindle versions
