Spoiler:Amber is not in a coma and any hospital would know that because she would be hooked up to an EEG machine. She is in a medically-induced paralytic state. So that's a lie.Her husband is not lying to her and he does love her. So that's a lie.She does lie, and that's the cheapest trick (next to using sudden magic) a writer can use.I read this all the way through in one sitting just because the book was so expensive I was determined to be able to review it knowing all there is to know about it. None of the characters are interesting; you just don't care what happens to them (if they're who the author says they are and if they're real characters in the first place). Once you realize Amber is paralytic and that she has a pushy medically-trained ex-boyfriend, you know who who put her into that state. And as soon as you hear she has cognitive problems, you know the rest of the story is up for grabs -- the author couldn't be bothered to write a tightly-woven plot so she just leaves it up to you to decide what's real.I taught line-of-action writing for twenty years, and if a student had brought this abomination to me, I would have told him/her to start over. This is just so bad I don't understand why anyone but a fellow ex-comp teacher would bother to read it.Save your money! If you want to read an emotionally-charged psychodrama with a cognitively-challenged female protagonist, read The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. At least it's entertaining.

A main character who is in a coma and sometimes lies. I'm all in!Quite a spellbinding read from start to finish! We are not sure how Amber ended up in the hospital in this coma , but she does admit that sometimes she lies. This was like a puzzle and I was trying to put the pieces together, but couldn't entirely trust all the pieces. Very cleverly written and I loved hearing what Amber was thinking while in this coma sizing up everyone in the room and giving us her insight. Four stars because I felt there was almost too much going on. I'm not sure how to explain it, but with all the lies I think I wanted a more defined plot line.The narrative switches from Now (in coma) to Then (before the coma). I loved trying to figure out what the lies were and who to trust. It is super twisty and just when you think you have it figured out another twist flies your way! A fast read for me because I needed to find out what was going on.The ending was my favorite part because it leaves you questioning yourself and if you perhaps missed anything. I have a theory, but I guess I'll have to wait until the next book!

I thought there were only two sides. Good and evil. After reading Alice Feeney’s psychological thriller SOMETIMES I LIE, I am now convinced there is another super sinister side somewhere at the edge of evil. Man, oh, man. This book will not let you down, thriller lovers. You will be on the edge of whatever perch you read.The narrator is in a coma, but she can hear what is happening and what is going on is nothing short of terrifying. She is not sure what her responsibility is in how she got to the hospital and what harm she might have caused.Set aside some serious time to read because once you start this, I promise you will not be able to put this book down. For sure you will be creeped out, but that creep factor is what will keep you wanting for more.Feeney’s debut work is surely just the beginning of many more wicked tales to come.

I probably should not comment on this book, because I am totally confused by the end of the story. It does keep you reading, but it is also confusing, and at the end, you are left more confused than ever. None of the characters are likeable, but I suppose the author did a good job in developing them to BE unlikeable.

This book was great. Cannot really say too much because that would spoil it. But will say, I did not see the twist that was revealed about 70% through.This from the Synopsis is what drew me to this book.My Name is Amber Reynolds. There are 3 things you should know about me1. I'm in a coma2. My husband doesn't love me3. Sometimes I lieThis is told through 3 different times lines. Now - When Amber “wakes” up in the hospital in a coma (with no memory of what happened) Then - The week leading up to when Amber “wakes” up in a coma. And then through diary entries from about 25 years ago.Now when I say Amber “wakes” up in a coma, I mean she can hear what people are saying but she cannot talk, move or open her eyes. I really liked this POV. Was kind of freaky as I was reading and just imagining how that would be, being able to hear but not tell anyone. She would be screaming answers but only in her head. And then she would slip back into the darkness and have memories. But are they real or imaginations? I think the author did great job with this part of the book. The writing and descriptions was so good , that you can just imaging what Amber is feeling.I really liked all the characters. They were all well developed. You don't know who to trust and what to believe. Great pacing and as it got father along it the book the suspense picks up, that I wanted to read faster. But I had to slow myself down to absorb what I was reading because I was getting confused LOL Still a couple things that have me a little confused (may go back and skim the book again) But I still enjoyed it very much.

Like all the recent psychological thrillers, I was mesmerized initially. I thought that at last I'd found a good book. NOT. Like the rest, it became so preposterous and bizarre that I don't even care how it ends. Skip this entirely unless you don't mind a totally outrageous and ridiculous plot.

I liked this book a lot until I was almost finished with it. Then it got so confusing I couldn't follow it. The first half was gripping and interesting but the last half was just too hard to follow. I didn't even finish it.

Fantastic book, a psychological thriller that grabs you. You need your wits about you reading this with many twists and turns.

Salem Hyde is a new character on the young reader scene, and this book has wonderful characters, a fun, dramatic problem and a great lesson to be learned. The interactions between Salem and his new "counsel" are hilarious. My kids really enjoyed reading this book, right after I finished it myself!

We love reading this as a family. My kinder and 4th grade sons are always entertained.

Salem is a witch and she needs help with spelling and spell casting she entered a spelling bee she thought it was a spell casting contest she found out it was spelling and she couldn't back out she cast a spell that made misspelled words appear in the real life form she hurried to fix her mistakes with glue before the principal saw and she did

Very enjoyable. It's not often you see a graphic novel that's so focused on situational humor, but here it is. Will look for more "Salem Hyde" books in the series.

A graphic novel. My third grade granddaughter absolutely loved it!

Very fun (and very clever!) graphic novel for kids who are chapter book-aged, but love things to be a bit more visual.

It's funny, and punny, I think I liked it better than the recipient did. I'm still reading it (it was a Christmas present for someone in the same household).

This is a powerful book on fasting - the whys and wherefores, and how to go about it. After reading this book, I was 100% ready to go.The problem is there is not enough cautionary information on what to do if you encounter trouble. In my case, I developed intestinal pain, and should have aborted the fast much sooner than I did. It turns out the fast had uncovered problems with gallstones that were affecting the pancreas and intestines, and ultimately the kidneys. This ended up being no small problem.I would recommend you supplement this book with something like Bill Bright's fasting guidelines, which you can find free online, or actually buy his full book. Between "Atomic" and Bright I think you'll have a more complete preparation going into a major fast. I also think it's a good idea to start slow if you're not used to fasting, or your body is not in great shape, or you're older. Go on a juice fast or a cleansing fast first, see how it goes, and then graduate to a water-only fast. Do it for a short time at first, and carefully gauge how your body is reacting.I am convinced by this book that fasting is a powerful discipline sorely neglected by Christians today. But make sure you go about it safely and correctly.

The 40 day fast is the secret weapon of the kingdom of God, the key that opens the heavens to all those who want to serve the Lord in power.

The content itself is wonderful, I will definitely be repurchasing this in traditional format. The Kindle version, however, is just plain terrible. Ingredients lists chopped in half, words we will never know hanging off the edge of the device screen, giant graphics that take up an entire page and disrupt the flow of the book... good thing this was only two bucks or I would have been really ticked.

Warning! The recipes are delicious! How can they not be? They are high fat! Will this book help you lose weight? Maybe. It depends on what your caloric needs and macro nutrients needs are. Did Healthy Meal Prep help me lose weight? No. I was keen to experiment with this book. I made only these recipes set out in the week long menu design for 3 solid months. I gained a lot of weight very fast! Why? First, each weeks menus total between 2,000-2,200 calories. I now know, through experience, that I personally only need 1,200 calories to maintain my weight for my activity level. I am sedentary all day but I lift weights 3-4 times a week for 30 minuets. I am a female 5’3”and 120 pounds. Second the HIGH FAT totals, packed on the pounds! By meticulous tracking my food on my fitness pal, and through trial and error On different diets, I now know, that I drop body fat only when I eat below 35 grams total fat for the day. If I go over 40 grams of fat I will gain a pound a week. I tried the keto diet for 6 months and I only lost 5 pounds. This books is NOT a keto diet. Keto is super low carb and sky high fat. Healthy Meal Prep does have moderately carbs but super high fat. The key to shedding fat, is you need to know how many calories you need for your activity level. This book may work well for a more active woman or a much taller woman or a man. Especially if they need a 2,000 calorie, very high fat, moderate carbohydrates diet. For example, in this book, chapter, Healthy Game Day weeks menu has 2,185 calories, 119g fat, 142g carbohydrates, 34 g fiber and a whopping 127g Fat. Chapter, Cozy Comfort food week menu, has 2,144 calories, 150g protein, 146g carbohydrates, 31g fiber, and 107g fat. Second, if your trying to loose body fat, you have to track your macros and you have to know how many calories YOU need for your body in order to drop body fat and keep your muscle. This cookbook is Higher FAT and moderate carbohydrates. I am 5’3”, 120 pound female, and I lift heavy four times a week. I used this book for three months to test the recipes out and they are delicious! Except for the peanut butter overnight oats. But, I will give this to my brother-in-law, who needs 2,000 calories and more fat. Unfortunately for me, the fat I eat over 35g per day, is the fat I wear! I have been lifting weights for 3 years. So I finally have my live lean macros dialed in. This book was a useful lesson in how to gain weight fast!

I love the layout and menus so much I had to buy a second one and gave my first copy to my boss! I’m working through each week as it is presented in the book. So far everything is delicious and well portioned! The shopping list is a life saver. I make a quick copy and head to the store. I’ve been following these two on YouTube for a while now and really enjoy the recipes they have on there so new the book would definitely be worth buying! I am very pleased with this purchase and recommend it to everyone!! The plan is easy to follow and even though it took me a little longer to prep I know with time and practice I’ll get faster. The shrimp from the first week was my favorite and who knew cauliflower rice would be so delicious!!

Love this book. All the recipes are easy and the plans are flexible. I don't eat shellfish but I was able to easily substitute a meal from a different meal plan to replace it. They have tips to make meals vegetarian but I don't think this book would be good for strict vegetarians/vegans or for families. It's perfect for a single person or a couple as everything is portioned for one person.

I love the idea of meal prep, but as I'm OCD in the kitchen it can get overwhelming! The plans are easy to follow and I loved the pictures. The meal plan included with each week was helpful as well. But, even though each individual recipe had the calorie count, it would have been nice to have the days total calorie count included in the day.We tried the plant-based plates weeks and the meatless meals. I too needed to cut the fat. But, I'm happy to say that I didn't feel the taste, texture, or quality of the meals I prepared was negatively affected in any way by this.We are a split household (I'm vegetarian, my husband is flexitarian) So, we tried an experiment with the Viva Variety week. I replaced the Chicken in the Camember Chicken with Tofu, and used home made vegan "meatballs" in place of the turkey meatballs for me and prepared my husband's as written. We were both happy with the results.I did lose a couple of pounds to boot!It took me a week or so to "find my groove" so the prep went smooth. But, now it's easier and smoother.I'm going to buy more copies for friends and family.

I was quite certain that I was going to love this book even before receiving it because I'm a huge fan of Stephanie and Adam's YouTube Channel and have been from the beginning. I don't love to cook but I'm relatively good in the kitchen. My problem is that I work until 7:30 every night and don't have the energy left to begin cooking at that point. Between cooking, eating and then cleaning, I don't close my kitchen light until 9:30/10:00 every night. But with meal prepping, I don't have this problem anymore and, even better yet, my nutrition is all taken care of and I'm feeling better, have lost some weight and can close my kitchen lights by 8:30! What a relief. I love the efficiency of the shopping lists provided, the photos and the macros. I usually prep 4 different recipes on Saturdays for my husband and I. Keep those recipes coming, Steph and Adam! #fitfam4ever

This is the best book I've found so far on IT auditing. It is thorough, yet easy to understand. Very comprehensive. The only issue I have is that there is a lot of references to Windows 2003, 2008 and Vista indicating that this book hasn't been updated for quite a while.

Robert McCloskey (1914-2003) wrote and illustrated some of the most honored and enduring children's books ever published. This book was perfect for my girls (5,3 and 3). It's innocent & dreamy and while written for a child I enjoyed reading to them. Perfect for summertime, sisters, & an adventurer's heart.

We keep a lot of kids books in the house, and this is my favorite. In my opinion this is a children's literature masterpiece. The Nightwatch, Guernica, One Hundred Years of Solitude-- in that vein. Along so many dimensions it shows levels of storytelling, art, and craftsmanship that are so immaculate, I almost tear up trying to describe it any further.It's a bit of a longer read-- for a child it is almost an epic-- which kind of requires an earlier bedtime, or a non-school night. Maybe that keeps it special for us.For my kids, it might not be on their top 3 lists at any given time-- but those change every couple months anyhow. I think spending the time reading this to them, showing them the love of nature, and of a simpler world, and for the ones I read it to, far outweighs more fleeting pleasures (which of course are important as well). That's what it means to be a parent anyhow. So make it a part of your life.

If you have ever spent part of a summer on the coast of Maine you will thrill at this story of so many possibilities and the "wonder" of them.

Being a fan of Make Way for Ducklings, I was in search of other books by Robert McCloskey when I found this gem of a book. It is gentle, lyrical and so beautiful in it's prose and artwork. My children like to listen to it at bedtime and it lulls them to sleep each time. It is a book that celebrates nature and it's beauty. It's hard for me to describe but it touches me deeply, evokes memories of my childhood camping trips in the mountains.

Happy memories reading this. Got it to give as a gift.

A great overall study of the Oak Island mystery with both pros and cons.Well balanced. Who knows what may be, or may not be, the true answer to this mystery.This book provides much more detail than one can obtain from the TV series, soon yes, I do recommend it as supplementary to what the TV series has to offer.I realize it was written with a younger audience in mind, but is still excellent in providing information to audiences of any age.Well done!

Great book

This was perfect for kicking off our unit on Oak Island! The student loved reading about the theories. The book is easy to read for fourth and gives just enough information.
