I've been using Living Languages for over 30 years because I always like learning foreign languages. The way that the authors prepare the courses is easy enough for anyone who likes learning foreign languages.Learning to SPEAK Chinese won't be as difficult as anyone would think if you starts with the first book, which is "Chinese Essentials". It is suggested to do each lesson at least 5 times before moving to the next lesson in order to master it. If you do so, it will become second nature. When I reaches the middle-chapter quiz, I was able to answer to all questions without even going back.The biggest challenge is to memorize the characters.The reason why I give only 3 stars is because of the way it is packaged. I received 9 CDs, but none of them is working correctly. I would suggest the author put them in some plastics cover or a CD case to protect them, instead of just putting them in just a little cardboard.
One of the first things that you will notice about this program is that it includes a tremendous amount of content consisting of 9 CDs and 3 textbooks.One textbook covers “ESSENTIAL†or beginner Spanish. There's also an INTERMEDIATE level Spanish textbook as well as an ADVANCED level Spanish textbook. You also get a “notebook†for convenient note-taking. You even get a nice little box to store the entire package.The first 5 lessons in this program teach phonetics which are so important because so many Spanish programs skip phonetics and then the student fails to learn proper Spanish pronunciation from the start. Which is probably a lot harder to correct later on.One thing that I really like about Living Language Spanish is that is has lots of quizzes and review dialogues. This helps to make sure that all the Spanish I’m learning really sticks with me. Another huge benefit about this program is that the books include a link to Living Language where you can get bonus resources that are centered around the lessons in this course. Just to name a few of the bonus resources you’ll find on the site:- audiovisual flashcards- interactive games- quizzesNow I’ll tell you what I like most about Living Language Spanish . . .This is an audio program that not only teaches you how to speak Spanish, it also teaches you how to read and write in Spanish. Nearly every other audio program I’ve found only teaches you how to speak Spanish – but not this one. I’m very confident that if I complete this program, my ability to read and write in Spanish will have improved tremendously.On a scale of 1 to 5, I give this program 4 stars. There’s only one reason – and one reason only – that I am not giving it 5 stars. There is very little Spanish vocabulary in it that is specific to the 21st century. I'd like this program a lot more if taught more Spanish for social media, the web, healthy diet, etc. Although the program has this flaw, I still strongly recommend that you buy it if you have any interest in not only learning how to speak Spanish but also how to write it.If you have any questions about Living Language Spanish, please post your questions below and I’ll do my best to answer your questions. This is my number 1 resource for learning Spanish and the version I have also includes a bonus CD which teaches both regular verbs and irregular verbs.2. Accelerated Spanish: Learn fluent Spanish with a proven accelerated learning system is my favorite learning Spanish hardback book and that is because it does double duty. It has taught me numerous Spanish-learning hacks. And I have also learned countless techniques to enhance my memory. Not only am I able to use these techniques to remember all the vocabulary and grammar I learn when studying a foreign language, but I can also use the techniques to effectively remember anything, from small, minute daily tasks to insights that can have an everlasting impact.3. Learn Beginner Spanish Bundle: The Ultimate Spanish for Beginners Bundle: Lessons 1 to 30: From the Original Learning Spanish like Crazy Level 1 The last time I checked this was the top selling audio program on Amazon. What stands out about this audio program is the style of teaching used. THIS IS BETTER THAN ROSETTA STONE...Ordered the product because it offers audio CDs from Essentials to Advanced along with corresponding Physical in your hand workbooks and FREE online learning access from your computer or access device. Product is sold at Barnes and Nobel at $50.and sets right next to Rosetta Stone for $250. I had previously purchased Rosetta Stone which provides no workbooks and the online access costs $14 per month or $89 per year....this after you pay a premium price for something that is no better than this product. Rosetta Stones model is to charge you a lot of money for a product that does not provide audio CDs so you can learn while driving to work..just software to load on a computer as backup...Rosetta continues to ride on the coat tails of a so yesterday novel idea without really advancing the product beyond finding ways to continue charging you for something already paid for...limits you to two computers...no customer service beyond telling you to read the instructions...Rosetta stones computer presentation and online website is nothing special either...so save yourself a lot of grief because at the end of the day YOU do all the work with these lessons..question is how much do you want to spend because no self taught course will do it for you.
